About the role:


Aspire are delighted to offer this exciting customer-facing role of Network Field Engineer, you’ll focus on the delivery and maintenance of Aspires network services across the UK.  The successful candidate will join an outstanding operational team achieving world class NPS at the cutting edge of technology delivery with great prospects to further their career into other areas of the business ranging from consultancy to security.

 

As the ideal candidate, you’ll be applying from a similar Network Field Engineering background, where you’re accustomed to working independently, whilst part of a wider team, to deliver a world class service.  You’ll be a self-starter who is familiar with the challenges and intricacies of working with networking equipment.  Ultimately, taking a key role within in Aspires Operations team.


Required Skills

  • Valid UK Driver’s License
  • 5 years experience working in a network role
  • Understanding and experience of networking technologies, topologies and routing protocols
  • Experienced in Wireless Surveys
  • Experience working within WAN, LAN and WLAN environments
  • Experience in working with Cisco Networks, ideally holding CCNA, as well as other technologies including Meraki, Cisco ASA, Juniper.
  • Problem resolution and working knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP and EIGRP to troubleshoot routing issues.
  • Build, document and maintain layer 3 and layer 2 WAN, LAN/WiFi and/or Voice services for our customers
  • Proven track record of great customer liaising experience
  • Must be able to interphase with both technical and non-technical customers
  • Contribute to best practices for networks team maintaining configuration templates, documentation standards and sign-off/handover processes
  • Make changes on in-life services, considering the impact of the change and any possible outage caused
  • Experience in undertaking network fault investigations in local and wide area environments using information from multiple sources to determine the best way forward

 

Desirable

  • Experience in elements of network design of LAN/WAN technologies
  • Experience of routing, switching, firewalls, secure tunnelling, WIFI, WAN optimization, IP schema design, VOIP/VTC
  • Experience of network management & monitoring, protective monitoring etc.
  • Understanding of good security practices
  • CCNP

Location and Working Arrangements:
The position offered is based out of Aspires Gateshead Head Office. However, you will be required to travel to support Aspires customers throughout the UK.

 

Salary:

£25,000 - £34,000


Hours of Work:
37.5 per week with shift patterns between the working hours of 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
